O fato de Tite ter convocado três jogadores da linha de frente do Flamengo (Everton Ribeiro, Bruno Henrique e Gabigol) para o início de caminhada da Seleção Brasileira nas Eliminatórias da Copa do Mundo não passou em branco. Em entrevista coletiva nesta sexta-feira, na sede da CBF, o comandante esclareceu que não houve “negociação” com nenhum dos clubes:

-Não, com nenhum clube. É início de Copa do Mundo, responsabilidade grande, acompanhamento grande e escolhas. Não tem relação com Flamengo e nenhum clube, mas autonomia da escolha de atletas.

O treinador também detalhou o que fez a diferença para convocar pela primeira vez o meia Everton Ribeiro.

– Onível do atleta é físico, de adaptação, de volta de um centro maior ou menor, a uma retomada, a uma equipe se ajustar. É o caso do Everton. Ele retorna porque tem no processo criativo dele uma grande marca – afirmou.

Tite também evitou fazer comparações da Seleção com a equipe rubro-negra.

– Fazer comparativos, eu tenho acompanhado, entre clubes e gerações diferentes, é uma situação que tem muitas variáveis e é injusto. Passei uma etapa me comparando com os outros, aí você fica ou presunçoso ou magoado. Sempre vai ter alguém melhor do que a gente, aprendi a fazer o meu trabalho bem feito e evitar me comparar com outros técnicos – e, em seguida, emendou:

– Mas reconhecendo que o Flamengo está fazendo um trabalho extraordinário e digno de elogios. Como foi o Atlético do Cuca, o Santos de Muricy, o Corinthians de 2012, o Grêmio campeão da Libertadores… – completou.

A Seleção Brasileira faz sua estreia nas Eliminatórias da Copa do Mundo no dia 27 de março, contra a Bolívia. No dia 31, medirá forças com o Peru.

Ben Foster has rubbished transfer rumours linking him with a move away from Watford this summer.

In a recent interview with the Jude’s Journey YouTube channel (via Watford Observer), the 38-year-old goalkeeper played down rumours of a move to Manchester City in the upcoming transfer window, claiming that the links are nothing more than paper talk.

He said: “It’s the way that paper talk goes, you’ll always get linked with other teams and other things will come up but at the end of the day it’s all just paper talk.

“I’ve never heard a single thing about this and that’s what these media outlets need to do. They need to fill some column inches so they put two and two together and most of the time come up with six or seven.”

Fans must be buzzing

Considering just how important Foster has been since joining the Hornets from West Bromwich Albion in a £2.52m deal back in the summer of 2018, the shot-stopper’s suggestion that he will not be leaving Vicarage Road this summer is sure to leave Watford fans buzzing.

As such, the news that Forster does not look likely to be moving on to pastures new this summer will delight not just fans of the club but also the Watford manager, as the 38-year-old’s Premier League experience – having featured 364 times in the competition – along with his obvious talent between the sticks should boost the Hornets’ chances of retaining their top-flight status come next summer.

There has been widespread speculation that Bruno Lage is the man Jorge Mendes and Wolves want to succeed Nuno Espirito Santo and he certainly has big boots to fill but he could be up for the job according to Wolves legend, Steve Bull.

“I’ve not read too much into all of these managers and what they’ve done because it’s all come as a shock to me.”

As per a tweet from The Athletic journalist, Fonseca is of interest to the Midlands club as they begin what they hope will be a quick search for a manager to succeed the departing Nuno Espirito Santo.

The 48-year-old has guided AS Roma to a respectable seventh place in the Serie A with one round of games left to play, and also got them to the Europa League semi-finals, where they were knocked out by Manchester United.

He has also won an abundance of trophies during his managerial career so far with the likes of FC Porto, SC Braga and Shakhtar Donetsk (Transfermarkt), and numerous Wolves fans seem to think that he is the ideal candidate to replace Nuno for next season.

أكد المدير الفني للفريق الأول لكرة القدم بنادي صن داونز، رولاني موكوينا، على أهمية الفوز أمام الأهلي في الجولة الثالثة من دور المجموعات من بطولة دوري أبطال إفريقيا يوم، السبت الماضي.

وواصل مدرب صن داونز تصريحاته: “اعتبرها مباراة كجزء مهم من التاريخ، لأننا لم نفز في القاهرة في آخر خمس مباريات، لذا كانت هذه هي المرة السادسة التي حالفنا فيها الحظ، لم نسجل أهدافًا في القاهرة، لذلك حققنا أهدافنا بضربة حجر واحد”.
