بعث ماسيمليانو أليجري المدير الفني لفريق يوفنتوس الإيطالي، برسالة تحذير لمنافسي السيدة العجوز قبل انطلاقة الموسم الجديد.

بدأت رسميًا جولة يوفنتوس الصيفية 2022، وتوجه لاعبو البيانكونيري إلى لاس فيجاس وسيواجه شيفاس دي جوادالاخارا.

خاطب المدرب أليجري الصحافة قبل انطلاق المباراة الودية الافتتاحية استعدادًا للموسم الجديد وحدد نغمة الجولة الصيفية.

وقال أليجري: “غدًا هي المباراة الأولى، لقد تدربنا جيدًا في هذه الأيام العشرة الأولى وأنا أشعر بالفضول لمعرفة مدى أدائنا”.

وأضاف: “إنهم فريق جيد لذا ستكون مباراة ممتعة لكلينا لاختبار كل منهما أخرى، نحن نعرف ما يكفي عن الجودة العالية لكرة القدم المكسيكية، شيفاس منظم من الناحية التكتيكية، لذا فهي مباراة مهمة بالنسبة لنا خاصة مع بداية الموسم في أقل من شهر”.

وواصل المدرب الإيطالي: “أصبح هناك اهتمام بكرة القدم هنا، غالبًا ما تكون الملاعب ممتلئة، والجماهير متحمسة، وهذا أمر جيد لنمو اللعبة هنا، هذا الملعب رائع، سيكون من الجيد التدرب هنا هذا المساء واللعب غدًا، مثل هذه الأحداث تساعد كرة القدم على النمو أكثر”.

وفيما يتعلق بأهداف يوفنتوس في الموسم الجديد بعد الموسم الصفري الماضي، أكد أليجري: “يوفنتوس، كما هو الحال دائمًا، يريد تحقيق كل هدف”.

وشدد: “بعد موسم بلا ألقاب، لأول مرة منذ 10 سنوات، من واجبك الفوز بالسكوديتو، وهذ العام مهم لنا”.

وتابع مدرب يوفنتوس: “شهد هذا الصيف وصول بعض كبار اللاعبين: “بعضهم من ذوي الخبرة، وبعضهم من الشباب، بالإضافة إلى ذلك، إنه الموسم الثاني لذلك نحن نبدأ بالفعل من قاعدة جيدة”.

وأتم: “لقد عقدنا صفقات مهمة، بريمر ودي ماريا وبوجبا وجاتي، يتمتع بريمر بخصائص دفاعية ممتازة، لا يوجد الكثير من اللاعبين مثله، وقد قام النادي بعمل جيد لتأمينه بسرعة كبيرة، الآن الأمر متروك لنا”.

كان الموسم الماضي هو الأصعب بالنسبة لأليجري خلال فترتيه مع النادي، بعد وصوله لأول مرة في عام 2014، مدد على الفور سلسلة انتصاراته بالسكوديتو إلى أربعة، مضيفًا أول انتصار له في كأس إيطاليا لمدة 20 عامًا وقاد يوفنتوس إلى نهائي دوري أبطال أوروبا.

The ICC had then altered the result of the match from an England win – by virtue of a forfeit from Pakistan – to a draw. However, at its meeting this weekend in Perth, the ICC board agreed to act upon the MCC’s recommendation that the original outcome of the match should stand.”After reconsideration of the matter, which included consideration of legal advice and input from the MCC, the custodians of the laws of cricket, the board decided that the original umpires’ decision to award the match to England, should apply,” an ICC release said. “I’m gratified the board reached the conclusion it did as this ensures the integrity of the game and the laws of cricket have been upheld,” the ICC chief executive Haroon Lorgat said. “I am especially grateful to the PCB for its understanding in this matter.”However, Inzamam-ul-Haq, who was the Pakistan captain at the time, considered the reversal of the decision as a “weakness of the ICC.” “I think they [ICC] have made it a joke by changing the result and I don’t rule out another change in the future,” he told AFP. “The PCB has also failed to take a stand against this change and they were also weak in handling this matter.”The on-field umpires during that Test, Darrell Hair and Billy Doctrove, had considered the match to be forfeited by Pakistan – the first in the history of Test cricket – after they refused to take the field post tea on the fourth day following accusations of ball-tampering. The result had huge off-field ramifications as well. Hair went on to be suspended from the ICC elite panel, though that decision was overturned in 2007 when he took his employers to the High Court in London.The Pakistan board, represented by chairman Ijaz Butt in Perth, was expected to oppose the move – it was the pressure from the PCB that had prompted the switch in results in the first place. However, the ICC board seems to have been swayed by MCC’s stance, one which had found favour with ICC president David Morgan as well.”The ICC has no power under the laws of cricket to decide that results should be altered, whether it feels it’s ‘inappropriate’ or otherwise,” Tony Lewis, the chairman of the MCC’s world cricket committee, had said in a statement in October. “The ICC’s decision is wrong and sets a very dangerous precedent. Cricket is the worse for this decision.”Lewis welcomed the ICC’s move to reverse the result. “We are pleased with ICC’s decision to uphold the original umpire’s ruling at the 2006 Oval Test match. While fully appreciating the sensitive nature of these discussions, and the issues surrounding them, MCC’s unanimous viewpoint has always been that the umpire’s decision must stand as Law 21.10 is unequivocal,” he said. “Indeed, the ICC’s own cricket committee shared our view.”The latest ruling meant England won the four-Test series 3-0 instead of 2-0.

Thomas Meunier has now revealed how close he was to signing for Tottenham Hotspur before joining Borussia Dortmund instead.

The Lowdown: Contract run down

There would not have been a shortage of interested suitors when Meunier decided to run his contract down at Paris Saint Germain back in the 2019 summer transfer window, and he ended up signing for Dortmund on a free a year later.

Valued at £21.6m at the time, it was certainly a bargain for the German outfit.

He has since gone on to win the German Cup with the Bundesliga giants, after achieving so many accolades at PSG (Transfermarkt).

As per AS, Meunier has now revealed that he could have gone to Spurs instead of Dortmund, among a couple of European heavyweights in Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan:

“I was able to go to other teams like Atletico, Tottenham or Inter, but in Dortmund the atmosphere is special. I live football with passion. Here in Dortmund you live the games in a very special way and that brought me here. It’s extraordinary.”

The Verdict: Shame

It is certainly a shame that the Lilywhites missed out on signing Meunier, especially on a free.

It seems they have only now solved their right-back situation by bringing in Emerson Royal from FC Barcelona, but Meunier would have been a perfect fit when also considering the business sense behind getting a £20m player for nothing.

Recently likened to David Beckham for his crossing ability by his Dortmund teammate Jude Bellingham, the Belgium international has a knack for an assist, with three already in four games in total over all competitions so far this season (Transfermarkt).

Nonetheless, to not pay a penny in transfer fees for a player of his calibre would have represented great business by Daniel Levy, especially in the midst of the pandemic.

Casilla has been a strong servant for Leeds – Victor Orta once claimed he was ‘very proud’ of him – but it is hard to justify him having a future at the club.

O Flamengo teve de esperar o desfecho de um imbróglio entre o Tianjin Quanjian e o Santos para registrar o nome de Geuvânio.

O clube chinês pagou R$ 2 milhões aos santistas por quebrar uma espécie de cláusula de exclusividade entre os clubes. No acordo contrato original, o Tianjin garantiu que o atacante só voltaria para o futebol brasileiro nas portas do Peixe.

Geuvânio foi contratado por empréstimo pelo Flamengo junto ao clube chinês por 18 meses. A negociação não envolveu custos, mas o Rubro-Negro comprometeu-se a arcar com a metade do salário do atleta, o que representa R$ 500 mil mensalmente saindo dos cofres da Gávea.
