There can be few more obvious ways of demonstrating your loyalty to a county than by signing a new contract when they are threatened by relegation and then scoring important runs which may help avert that indignity.Nick Compton may not have much idea what the future holds for him as far as England is concerned but he has finally pledged his domestic future to Somerset for the next three years. And on a blissful late summer evening in Edgbaston, the opener put his bat where his pen was by making an unbeaten 83 as Somerset fought back on the third day of their Division One game against Warwickshire.By the close of play Compton’s innings, which had included ten crisp, confident boundaries, had helped Somerset establish a 66-run lead going into the final day of this match. A draw is now favourite and those three points may be vital in helping Marcus Trescothick’s team avoid relegation; but wherever the game is heading, it has at last become clear that Compton is moving nowhere.Opting to stay at Taunton may not have been a straightforward decision for the opener. He had been courted by richer and rather more fashionable counties, Warwickshire included. However, he has finally decided to stay at the county where he has produced his best cricket and his play on Thursday evening was both carefree and conscientious, as if he could finally apply himself to the business of scoring runs.Yet batting was not easy on the third evening. Jeetan Patel carried a continual threat and had a confident lbw shout against Compton turned down when the opener had made 63. By then the offspinner had dismissed Trescothick for the second time in the match when the Somerset captain edged him to Rikki Clarke. Nor could the Taunton hierarchy have been too ecstatic to see Chris Jones run himself out for 16 when attempting a third run to Clarke’s arm in the penultimate over of the day.But Compton remained steadfast and secure, and while he does so it is hard to see how Warwickshire will achieve the win they need to further their ambitions. A game may be “set up” of course, but it is surely unlikely that Somerset will risk three hard-won points unless the terms offered were judged to be very favourable to them.By contrast to Compton’s careful approach, Warwickshire’s batting on the third day was rather profligate. Having lost their first three wickets for 38 runs on the second morning, they proceeded to lose their last seven for exactly 100 runs, leaving Laurie Evans and Ateeq Javid’s 269-run stand as a monument amid much rubble.Evans was the first to depart on Thursday, trapped on the crease by Peter Trego when he had added only eight to his overnight 130. Tim Ambrose was then beaten by an Alfonso Thomas delivery which nipped back off the seam and the dangerous Clarke was run out three balls later when Thomas got a touch to a drive from Javid.That left Warwickshire on 327 for 6 but the 39-year-old Darren Maddy then batted with the good judgement of twenty summers, and if his colleagues had been able to support him, the home side may well have gained the 100-run or more advantage they craved instead of the 67-run lead for which they had to settle.Indeed, Varun Chopra’s team lost their last four wickets in 14 overs after lunch, the first of them when Javid pushed tentatively at George Dockrell and was caught behind for a career-best 133. Things got worse for them when both Keith Barker and last man Patel were stumped by Craig Kieswetter off Dockrell, dismissals which sandwiched No. 10 Tom Milnes holing out at mid-on, also off the spinner.All three wickets were, to some degree at least, given away by the home side in a manner unbefitting champions. Murray Goodwin registered his fourth century of the season as Glamorgan scored 409 runs on day two of their LV= County Championship Division Two match against Leicestershire at Swansea to take control of the contest.The 40-year-old, who reached 1,000 first-class runs for the season in the process of scoring 176, shared in significant partnerships with Jim Allenby (76) and Mark Wallace (86). It helped Glamorgan to 445 for 7 by the close, a first innings lead of 242.Goodwin had come to the wicket nine balls into the Glamorgan innings in difficult conditions on day one and had reached 12 not out from 36 for 3 by the close. But on the second morning Goodwin and Chris Cooke were welcomed by sunshine and better batting conditions as they resumed 167 behind Leicestershire’s 203 all out.In the first hour the fourth wicket had realised 47 runs before Cooke edged an attempted cut behind off Ben Raine. But the runs kept on coming either side of lunch through Allenby – who required 59 runs to become Glamorgan’s first batsman to 1,000 runs in first-class cricket this season – and Goodwin, who went to his 50 with his eighth boundary from 135 balls.Former Leicestershire player Allenby lofted James Sykes for a straight six before clipping Alex Wyatt for four through midwicket, before Goodwin swept the spinner for two fours as Glamorgan reached tea at 153 for 4. After the interval Allenby completed his half-century from 77 balls and then reached 1,000 runs for the season as the 200 came up.But after giving Glamorgan the lead the fifth wicket pair’s contribution of 140 in 35 overs ended when Allenby edged behind.Goodwin’s vigil continued as he went to three figures – his fourth of the season and 71st of his career – from 218 balls with 14 fours as Glamorgan reached 307 for 5 at tea, an overall lead of 104.Despite Leicestershire taking the second new ball the Glamorgan runs kept on coming as Goodwin and Wallace put on 189 in 39.2 overs before both batsmen were dismissed in the space of five ballsGoodwin edged Raine behind, going for 86 from 113 balls, before Goodwin was bowled attempting to sweep James Sykes. The former Sussex man went for 178 from 316 balls with 29 fours in an innings that lasted exactly 400 minutes. Before the close Graham Wagg struck two sixes off Sykes.

وعن نهائي كأس الرابطة قال: “كان لدينا عدة تحديات، وأهمها تحقيق المركز الخامس وهو مركز مؤثر وجيد لجمهور بورسعيد، كنا نطمع في المربع الذهبي لكن ذلك كان صعبا، ونتمنى المشاركة في بطولة خارجية خلال الموسم المقبل، وكذلك ننتظر الفائز من لقاء الأهلي والداخلية في كأس مصر، بالإضافة للصعود إلى نهائي كأس الرابطة”.

واستطرد: “تم الاتفاق معنا للعمل كجهاز مؤقت، وحتى الآن الاتفاق ساري كما هو، ولا يوجد شئ رسمي بشأن تمديد التعاقد لموسم آخر، وفي النهاية نسعى لتحقيق نتيجة ايجابية حتى نهاية الموسم، ونترك الأمر لمجلس الإدارة الذي يعمل لمصلحة النادي فقط”.

Antes do treino desta quinta-feira, no Estádio Nilton Santos, Diego Souza concedeu uma entrevista coletiva, na qual as principais respostas foram a respeito do trabalho do técnico Zé Ricardo, pressionado após a eliminação precoce no Campeonato Carioca.

O camisa 7 do Botafogo analisou o momento do Alvinegro, em “fase de formação”, de acordo com a estrela do ataque.

-Estamos em fase de formação, de buscar a melhor equipe. Zé é um cara novo, mas muito inteligente. Conversa bastante com a gente, nos próximos jogos não teremos essa dificuldade. Estamos trabalhando bastante.

-Sobre o trabalho do Zé, pode ter certeza que trabalha muito corretamente. Bem tranquilo de lidar, entende bastante do dia a dia de campo, às vezes as coisas demoram um pouco para acontecer. Quem esteve aqui no ano passado viu uma equipe que jogava e bem contra qualquer tipo de adversário. Por mais que ainda não esteja da melhor maneira esse ano, o que vale é o final. Certeza que nesse resto de temporada temos tudo para ajudá-lo – completou Souza.

Diego Souza marcou um gol e deu uma assistências nos três jogos em que esteve presente com a camisa do Botafogo. O próximo desafio de sua equipe será diante do Juventude, na próxima quinta-feira, pela partida de ida da terceira fase da Copa do Brasil, no Nilton Santos. Ele projetou o duelo:

Na última terça-feira (2) o Bahia anunciou a contratação do técnico Roger Machado chegando ele ao clube nordestino após a saída de Enderson Moreira. Um dos responsáveis pela contratação de Roger, o diretor de futebol Diego Cerri explicou os bastidores da negociação com o ex-treinador de Palmeiras, Atlético-MG e Grêmio e conta como o Bahia conseguiu “atrair” o profissional.

– Logo depois de decidirmos que era o momento da saída do Enderson Moreira, entramos em contato e acabamos chamando o empresário até Alagoas, onde estávamos, e compramos uma passagem para ele, para conversarmos pessoalmente e tentar avançar na negociação. Foi algo muito rápido, chegou também o presidente, o vice-presidente também participou. Conversamos com o Roger também no telefone. Debatemos sobre o que nós esperaríamos dele como treinador, o que ele esperava encontrar no clube, para avaliarmos os dois lados. Acho que isso foi muito bacana, tivemos uma empatia de ideias grande – disse Cerri, que completou:

– Explicamos muito sobre o Bahia, o que ele ia encontrar aqui. Não tenho dúvida de que essa transformação do Bahia e a gestão técnica fez com que o projeto do Bahia o atraísse, além, claro, da magnitude da torcida e deste gigante que é o Bahia. Algo que conversei muito com ele é a questão do elenco, de ter jogadores com bom nível, um elenco bem montado, que vai possibilitar a ele fazer um trabalho bom como temos todos de fazer. É importante para ele e para o Bahia que as coisas deem certo.

Além de Roger Machado, o Bahia já havia surpreendido no mercado ao contratar jogadores pretendidos por outras equipes e que estavam em destaque, como os atacantes Gilberto e Fernandão, além de Artur, ex-Palmeiras, Douglas, ex-Corinthians, e Shaylon, ex-São Paulo. Agora, com a contratação do novo técnico, Diego Cerri crê que o mercado já olha para o Tricolor baiano de forma diferente.

– Acho que é notório que o Bahia vem subindo um pouco o patamar, cada vez um degrau, aos poucos como tem de ser, pra se ter uma base sólida, subir aos poucos e não regredir. Resultado ruim vai acontecer no meio do caminho, faz parte, mas na essência temos de ir progredindo todo ano um pouco, levar o clube a outro patamar. O mercado nos olha hoje um pouco diferente do que há alguns anos atrás – disse Diego.

O cartola fez questão de exaltar o trabalho de Enderson Moreira no clube e, principalmente, a mudança de postura que ele conseguiu enxergar no desenvolvimento do estilo de jogo nos primeiros meses do agora ex-técnico do Esquadrão. Acrescentando que a ideia do clube em trazer Roger Machado caminha justamente na linha de continuidade na maneira de atuar desejada:

– O trabalho do Enderson foi muito bem feito. Ficou nove meses no clube, conseguiu ter bons resultados, principalmente no ano passado. Mas conseguiu, acima de tudo, um trabalho muito consistente nessa linha de lapidar um time, montar um time que tivesse a bola, criasse bastante, não ficasse só se defendendo… Acho que o Roger pode dar continuidade a isso, trazer a cara dele ao time, dar sequência nesse trabalho que iniciamos. O próprio Roger viu isso, sem dúvida pesou na vinda dele.

كشفت تقارير صحفية فرنسية، منذ قليل، موعد طرح نادي باريس سان جيرمان لنجم الفريق كيليان مبابي، للبيع في موسم الانتقالات الصيفي الحالي.

كان باريس سان جيرمان قد وجه صفعة لـ مبابي بعدما قرر استبعاده من جولة اليابان الاستعدادية للموسم الجديد.

يأتي هذا في ظل التكهنات المنتشرة حول مستقبل النجم الفرنسي في حديقة الأمراء بعدما رفض فكرة التمديد على عقده الحالي، الذي سينتهي في 30 يونيو 2024.

وأكدت تقارير صحفية منذ قليل أن قرار باريس سان جيرمان باستبعاد مبابي من المعسكر الاستعدادي للموسم الجديد يعني طرحه للبيع من الآن.

ووفقًا لصحيفة “ليكيب” الفرنسية، فإن باريس سان جيرمان لا ينوي التفاوض مع الأندية الراغبة في ضم مبابي قبل 31 يوليو الجاري.

وأشارت إلى أن السبب وراء ذلك يعود إلى أن مبابي يمكنه تفعيل بند التمديد في عقده الحالي مع باريس سان جيرمان، حتى نهاية هذا الشهر.

وأفادت أنه بعد ذلك، سيتم طرحه رسميًا في سوق الانتقالات بدءًا من 1 أغسطس، إذا لم يوافق على التمديد، حيث لا يرغب باريس سان جيرمان في رحيله مجانًا الصيف القادم.

The Bangladesh and New Zealand camps were in slightly contrasting positions at the end of the first day’s play. The visitors were bemused at having lost three wickets in the last hour which spoiled the top-order’s fine work, particularly Kane Williamson’s fourth Test century. The home side was justifiably pleased to have a final burst of wickets, but didn’t particularly like how the pitch had turned out.The 23-year-old’s composed 114 was as much a test of patience for the bowlers as it was for Williamson himself. He had batted for four-and-a-half hours, enough time for the Bangladesh bowling unit to get constricted.They did start bowling a one-day line, but Williamson didn’t chase too many wide ones or miss out on anything offered short of length. He started off his innings with two impossibly difficult shots that were daintily executed. But then he stopped looking for those gaps, and only reacted to anything that was wide and short.In the process, he added 126 for the second wicket with Peter Fulton, who batted out nearly four hours for his 73.”He’s a very good player of spin bowling,” Fulton said. “He made it look pretty easy out there at times. Over here with the heat and humidity, you start to get tired and maybe reign yourself in a little bit. You have to be happy to just be out there in the middle. When the bad ball comes along, he is good enough to put them away.”Williamson’s innings was given more value by the surface on which he batted. The discussion throughout the day centered around the pitch, particularly because of the brand new playing square at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.The fielding side’s spokesman for the day, Nasir Hossain, was critical of the track.”We hoped the wicket would turn. It is a new surface, so we have scant idea of which way it would go in the rest of the game. In the remaining days of the match, he understands that it will break and the ball will start to turn.”It was probably the wicket that we expected,” Fulton said. “It was pretty low and slow, not a lot of bounce. As the day went on, it started to take turn. It was pretty much what we planned for.”I wouldn’t expect the bounce to improve. I would expect it to get lower and slower. When you win the toss and bowl, you hope the wicket will deteriorate and get even tough to bat on.”The New Zealand opener believed that the side’s batsmen had mostly handled Shakib Al Hasan and Abdur Razzak well, as left-arm spinners are considered the biggest threat for the visitors. “They’ve got two good left-arm spinners in the team. If they’re going to be bowling the majority of the overs, they’d get the wickets. At times today, we played them very well,” Fulton said.The lack of turn is likely to abate in the next day or two as cracks start to appear. But the low bounce and the sluggishness is not a new phenomenon in Bangladeshi playing surfaces, regardless of how old or new they are. The curator here tried to produce as sporting a wicket as possible, despite his limitations and the methods used in this part of the sub-continent.The basic idea of producing wickets in Bangladesh is to avoid using grassroots when they are building up the layers of soil. The roots hold the water and retain moisture for an extended period. It helps bind the wicket better, making it a harder surface eventually. It also slows the process of wearing down.The Chittagong pitch, like any other in the country, is devoid of grass and as a result is likely to have lower bounce. The pace, too, wouldn’t be encouraging.One wonders how Williamson produced those two beautiful shots straight down the ground and through mid-wicket so early in his innings. As the match wears on, such natural ability will have to be curbed and batting out of one’s comfort zone is likely to take precedence.

Vitor Bueno rescindiu o contrato com o Dinamo e foi emprestado pelo Santos ao São Paulo até dezembro de 2020. Alexandre Pássaro explicou que o Peixe não tem autonomia para vendê-lo durante esse período. No entanto, o São Paulo herdou a opção de compra que os ucranianos tinham, em um valor muito elevado. O gerente disse que ao longo dos próximos 21 meses essa multa pode ser renegociada.

Pássaro explica que o Santos não tem autonomia para vender Vitor Bueno durante o empréstimo: "Não tem qualquer cláusula de saída. A decisão é nossa. Não há nenhuma restrição inclusive de jogar contra o Santos".

– Eu acompanhei desde o início, desde as primeiras ligações, quando meu empresário me passou que o São Paulo estava interessado. Sempre prevaleceu minha vontade, fiz de tudo para que desse certo – declarou o jogador, que por pouco não trabalhou com Cuca no Santos.

– Ainda não tive essa conversa direta com o Cuca. Quando ele assumiu no Santos, eu tinha acabado de ir para a Ucrânia e ele pediu meu retorno. Acabou que não deu certo, mas o que importa é que ele gosta de mim. Ele pode me utilizar pelo meio ou pela ponta. Eu era um meia armador, depois que fui para o Santos o Dorival acabou me utilizando aberto.

Pouco espaço na Ucrânia
Encaro como aprendizado o que vivi lá. Joguei muito pouco. Não por falta de treino ou vontade. Eu até ia muito bem nos treinos, fazia gol nos amistosos. Foi realmente opção do treinador. Por que a vontade de vir ao São Paulo?
Pela grandeza do clube, pelo projeto apresentado, pelo treinador, que já tinha me ligado quando estava no Santos, a vontade de trabalhar com ele, o elenco que dispensa comentários… Vim para ganhar título, para ajudar o São Paulo. Estava sem jogar, quero retomar meu futebol, minha carreira, e vi isso como uma oportunidade muito boa disso acontecer.

Posicionamento
Eu não joguei como meia no Santos. Cheguei como meia e o Dorival acabou me adaptando, porque quem jogava era o Lucas Lima. Eu jogava aberto. A gente trocava dentro do jogo.

Vai ao estádio nas finais?
Estou junto com a equipe, vou ao estádio nas duas finais, passar força aos meus companheiros. Cheguei aqui e peguei um clima muito bom.
